Aggreko is delighted to be on the winning side with Jordan Smith as he continues his rise up the world rankings of golf, knowing he shares the same dedication to his sport as we do to our customers.
Jordan Smith was signed by Nike Golf in 2015, joining its impressive stable of athletes in a multi-year, 14-club, head-to-toe deal with the iconic brand.
Jordan said of the announcement, “Becoming a Nike Golf athlete, for me, is a recognition of the success I’ve already achieved so far in my career but also my future potential, and I know there is lots of hard work ahead to achieve what I want in the sport.”
“We are delighted to have Jordan on board at Nike Golf,” said Robin Murray, Director of Sports Marketing, Nike Golf EMEA.
Rob Hobkinson is Performance Director with Peak Golf Performance, specialising in working with elite golfers to develop a holistic and scientific approach to the management of their performance. He has worked with some of the best players in the world, and in choosing to engage Rob as part of his team in May 2012, Jordan signalled a step change in his career and a real commitment to a professional and scientific approach to success.
Rob is responsible for ensuring Jordan is in peak physical condition to meet the demands of the intensive European Tour tournament schedule. As part of his role in the team, Rob develops phased strength and conditioning programmes; provides consistent support during gym training; undertakes ongoing diet planning and works to develop and execute team preparation strategies. This work is based on a foundation of statistics and scientific analysis, following biomechanical and physiological testing at Leeds University.
Rob moved into sport science for golf performance through his study and work at Leeds Metropolitan University, having spent the first part of his career as a fully qualified coach and member of the PGA. This means that he has a unique perspective on the game. Therefore, the programmes and strategies developed are tailored to the needs of the tournament golfer. Rob is studying for a Masters in Physiotherapy, qualifying in early 2015; this will further enhance the support service which he is able to provide to elite golf performers before, during and after a tournament.
