Jordan Smith has enjoyed a metoric rise through the golfing ranks since first picking up a club at the age of 13. This season marks the Englishman's second season on the European Tour after a memorable rookie year in 2017 which saw Jordan enjoy four top-ten finishes, make his Major debut at the US PGA Championship and claim his maiden European Tour title at the Porsche European Open. Prior to his European Tour rookie year, Jordan enjoyed back-to-back Order of Merit titles in 2015 and 2016 - an achievement that few can match in professional golf.
In 2017, Jordan marked his arrival onto the European Tour in style in just his third event on the premier tour, finishing in third at the 2017 BMW SA Open where he was involved in a thrilling climax in Sunday's final group with Rory McIlroy and eventual winner, Graeme Storm.
It only took the young Englishman until July in his first season to record his maiden European Tour win, claiming the Porsche European Open after a nailbiting play-off with former champion Alexander Levy. Jordan concluded the European Tour season with four top-ten and thirteen top twenty-five finishes.
His success in Germany saw Jordan gain entry to the US PGA Championship, his debut appearance at one of the world's Major events. Here the young Englishman wasted no time in making his presence felt, finishing in T9 for the week as the event's top-ranked British player and second-highest placed European.
2016 saw Jordan win the Challenge Tour 'Road to Oman' and graduate to the European Tour fully. An emphatic flag-to-finish victory in the second event of the year at the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge set the Wiltshire golfer on his way. Consistenly strong performances saw Jordan remain at the top of the leader board for 15 of the 26 weeks of the Challenge Tour season. Claiming his second success of the year in the Tour's penultimate event, the RAK Golf Challenge in Abu Dhabi, Jordan only needed a respectable finish in the season's Grand Final to claim the title.
Jordan's Road to Oman success was all the more impressive as it was gained during his first year on the Challenge Tour having topping the Euro Pro Order of Merit the year before in 2015.
Noting his impressive start to life as a professional, Nike signed Jordan up to a head-to-toe sponsorship deal in July 2015.
After winning the prestigious Hampshire Salver in 2014, Jordan made the decision to turn professional. In his first European Tour event as a pro, Jordan impressed by finishing in the top thirty of a field that included numerous previous winners and former Ryder Cup players.
Jordan enjoyed a stellar amateur career which included Walker Cup and further international recognition alongside Brabazon and Hampshire Hog successes.
